In early 2012, Columnar acquired a two-parcel assemblage of raw, un-entitled land for $4.0 million through a friendly foreclosure sale in southwest Orange County. Due to their positive relationship with the seller and the private lien holder, Columnar was able to beat out multiple buyers. The properties, in the well-established Horizon West region of southwest Orange County near the theme parks, were entitled for 542 residential units. Over a period of four years, the parcels were sold to national builders, totaling $24.5 million in sales.
